College Mall is a regional shopping mall located in Bloomington, Indiana. This is home to Indiana University's flagship campus.
College Mall opened in 1965. This makes the mall one of the older malls in the central/southern part of Indiana. It was later renovated and expanded in 1996, with the new design being considered a topological mystery due to the inability to determine the interior layout from its exterior appearance.[1]
College Mall is managed by Simon Property Group out of Indianapolis.

College Mall has undergone a few anchor changes over the years. The first was when William H. Block department store was purchased by Ohio based Lazarus department stores. The store at College Mall was converted to a Lazarus in 1987. Then in 2003 the store was closed and torn down. Dick's Sporting Goods was built as a new anchor in its place opening in 2005.
2003 was a busy year at the mall. That same year, JC Penney left its 2 level store and closed operations. The store was demolished to make way for a new Target anchor in 2004.[2]
L. S. Ayres was not immune to the anchor changes. Opening its store in 1982 it was at the very end of College Mall. It was not long after the purchase by Macy's parent company, Federated Department Stores, the College Mall location along with the rest of the chain were converted over to Macy's.
